Indiana Foil Ambassadors Rob and Sarah Shine at SFT Tour Finals in Austria

Indiana International ambassadors, Rob and Sarah, have made a splash at the SFT Tour Finals held on the picturesque Traunsee in Austria. The competition, featuring top-tier athletes from around the globe, saw Rob secure a commendable 2nd place in the world rankings, while Sarah dominated the women's division, clinching the event win.

Rob, reflecting on his performance, shared, "I knew going in that the top spot was likely out of reach, but I was determined to defend my second-place ranking." He consistently navigated the challenging races, relying on skill and consistency to overcome competitors like Austrian Jurij and battled hard, ultimately finishing just behind Edan in the world standings. Rob acknowledged Edan's superior performance, noting his rigorous training and speed on the water.

Rob's Equipment: Rob was using a Vonroll 90 Signature board, a Drive HM75 mast, Barracuda M Front Wing, Condor S stabilizers, and an XS/XXS tail.

Sarah, meanwhile, showcased her dominance in the women's field. "The organization of the event was top-notch, and the location was simply stunning," she said. Sarah has won all three SFT events that she has participated in. Despite pre-race jitters about her starts, Sarah consistently led the pack, securing victories in almost all races and time trials. "It was great that more women were participating and we had a lot of fun competing with each other."

Sarah's Equipment: Sarah's equipment was a LeDoigt Signature board, a Drive HM75 mast, Condor S Front Wing and stabilizers, and an XS/XXS tail.

Adding a unique and entertaining element to the competition were the "wake thieving" sessions, where athletes wake surfed behind a wakeboard boat. Sarah recalls, "It was a blast! Rob and I were on the wave the whole time, and it was such a fun experience to share."

While Sarah ultimately placed third in the World Cup rankings due to the events point system, her victory in Austria, along with Rob's strong finish, underscores the impressive talent emerging from Indiana's foilboarding scene.

"This event was a great showcase of the sport, and we're proud to represent Indiana on the world stage," concluded Rob.

Both Rob and Sarah plan to continue training hard and competing, with their sights set on future international and National events.
